Wilab is the first and only Pole Aerial Dance Studio in La Union. Established since September 2021. Since then, the community embraced Pole and Aerial art thus come 2024, we are already able to build our very own solo studio in the heart of San Juan, La Union. We are committed to offering a distinctive and empowering experience through our diverse classes, which include Pole, Aerial, and various Dance styles. Additionally, our studio provides Private Studio Rentals and Open Studio Practice, giving individuals the opportunity to explore and enhance their skills in a friendly supportive atmosphere.
Meet Our Founder, Betsy
It all started when I fell in love with Pole. At first, I only treated it as my sole workout after working a 9 to 5 in the busy city of Makati. Since January of 2018 I have not left Pole and since then, I have explored different kinds of movement that fueled my soul.
When the pandemic hit the world, I decided to move back to my hometown, La Union. Left the city, brought all my stuff and my pole with me. Back then, I already loved teaching, even when I was just in my first year. Then during the pandemic I started doing online sessions with my friends (me as the stand in teacher) and we would spend hours just pole dancing at the comfort of our homes. Those times really opened a Pandora box in me.
Hence, moving forward, more people from my hometown became interested and curious at what I do and somehow I started teaching from my living room. Then, one sunny afternoon, a friend of mine offered me a space where I could put up my poles and actually teach for good. So right there and then, I started teaching Pole hoping that more people from my hometown would have access to this kind of sport and would feel the spark i felt when I also first started.
Years later, I have met more and more people from different backgrounds of movement, worked with amazing artists and grow with the local and international pole, aerial and dance community. I have joined various competitions and won, took my certifications, master classes, took professional coaching from the bests in the country and the world. Up to this day, I have been passionate about my training and serious about it because I am inspired by the people around me. I also care about my students now that I just can't really stop at any given moment.
I just love it so much, that building Wilab does not really feel like work.
